Terms, privacy & important information

Effective September 29, 2026. Milieu Legal offers document preparation, account storage, and links to official resources. The service-status panel identifies connections awaiting activation. In-site court filing is not currently available.

Who we are

Milieu Legal is part of Milieunomics Institute, an assumed business name of HOME MILIEU LLC, an Indiana limited liability company (business ID 202403261777865). The principal office listed in Indiana’s business registry is 2806 N Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545, USA. Milieu Legal provides technology and legal information. It is not a law firm, court, government agency, or legal referral service. Will is an augmented-intelligence assistant, not a licensed attorney.

No attorney-client relationship

Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship with Milieu Legal, Milieunomics Institute, Will, or another user. Communications with the platform are not automatically protected by attorney-client privilege. A separate agreement with a licensed attorney is required for legal representation. An attorney badge does not establish a representation relationship or guarantee competence.

Your decisions and review

You remain responsible for factual accuracy, authentic authorities, legal arguments, deadlines, jurisdiction, venue, signatures, fees, confidentiality, and service. AI can make mistakes or omit relevant law. Review every document and cited source. The document checks are limited assistance and do not certify legal sufficiency, compliance, filing readiness, or likely outcomes. Court forms and local rules may require a different format. Seek a qualified Indiana attorney for advice on your circumstances.

Filing and court status

No document is filed merely because it is drafted, exported, checked, or sent to a provider. Submission, service, and clerk acceptance are distinct events. Use the actual provider receipt and court notices as evidence. Direct submission from this release is unavailable. Tyler Technologies is the intended filing integration. Milieu Legal does not claim provider certification, production access, or a partnership that has not been established. Provider agreements, fees, availability, and court rules apply. A court hearing can only be scheduled or changed as authorized by the court.

Identity and professional status

You may create an account and skip CLEAR identity verification for now. Your account remains visibly unverified. Successful CLEAR verification will be required for in-site filing, which remains unavailable until the authorized integrations are active. Identity verification does not prove licensure. Attorney status will remain unverified until checked through an authorized process against Indiana's official attorney records. No user may award themselves a verified identity or attorney badge.

Acceptable use and content

Use only information and evidence you may lawfully use. Do not submit false statements, impersonate others, abuse the court process, infringe rights, or attempt unauthorized access. You retain rights in your content. If you choose a connected service, you authorize processing only as needed to provide the requested function and under that service's terms. Milieu Legal may suspend misuse, subject to applicable law.

Privacy in this release

Guest draft text and locally imported documents remain in this browser tab unless you explicitly save, download, or send them to a connected service. Refreshing or closing the page can erase them. Downloads remain on your device. Do not enter identity documents, full financial identifiers, or confidential evidence in the guest workspace. Hosting services may process technical request data and security logs. No promise of absolute security is made.

Choosing to copy material to ChatGPT or open an external service transfers you to that service under its own terms. Live AI processing will require a separate notice and your confirmation before matter text is sent. CLEAR will handle identity verification through its approved flow; this site will not ask you to paste a password, Social Security number, or identity document into chat. Dropbox and Zoom connections will require your authorization. Connections are restricted to your account. Adobe tools load only when you select them and may process essential usage telemetry. The default local preview does not load Adobe. Live AI sends your selected message, matter, draft, and recent conversation to OpenAI after your confirmation; the app requests no response storage, but provider security and retention policies still apply.

Account data, access, and deletion

Creating an account stores the sign-in identifier, profile information, and terms acceptance. Saving a matter or original file stores that content in account-scoped cloud storage. Saving a photo stores it privately. Submitting a court-waiver order makes it available to authorized human reviewers for access eligibility. Identity documents stay in CLEAR’s verification flow; Milieu stores its verification identifier and timestamp. Connection tokens are encrypted at rest. Profiles are private by default; choosing Attorney is a claim, not verified licensure.

Account content remains until you delete it. Your profile offers account-data export and deletion. Download original documents separately before deleting them. Account deletion removes the profile, saved matters, uploaded originals, waiver orders, and connection tokens from active Milieu storage. Minimal billing identifiers and filing-credit records remain for reconciliation and preventing duplicate allowances. Court records, downloads, provider-held copies, and provider retention practices are outside this deletion process. Removing a connection does not revoke permissions at the provider; use that provider’s account settings too. Cancel an active subscription before account deletion.

Membership and three free filings

Each user receives three free Milieu filing service credits. A credit is used only after a successful submission through Milieu’s authorized provider integration. Drafting, checking, exporting, failed submissions, and filings made outside Milieu do not consume credits. Provider submission does not guarantee clerk acceptance. After the three credits, connected tools and filing require a paid membership or approved access waiver. Access to existing documents and account export remains available.

A subscription covers Milieu’s available software tools and filing service charges. Court costs, process-server charges, external provider fees, and other third-party charges are separate unless expressly included at checkout or covered by an applicable court order. Recurring price, billing interval, taxes, and cancellation terms must be displayed before payment. There is no automatic charge when free credits end. Manage subscription opens the payment provider’s secure portal for billing and cancellation. Payment is processed by Stripe when activated; Milieu does not store card numbers. Charges and refunds remain subject to applicable law and the disclosed purchase terms. No subscription is sold until merchant activation is complete.

Fee assistance and free tool access

A court-approved fee-waiver order qualifies a user for no-charge access to all available Milieu tools after an authorized human verifies the order. Users cannot approve their own status. The Milieu benefit waives Milieu preparation and filing service fees, not charges owed to other parties. A completed waiver application is a request, not court approval. The court may grant full or partial relief from prepayment, deny the request, or address costs later. The order controls the scope of court relief. Local requirements and separate appellate rules may apply. An access request submitted to Milieu does not submit anything to a court or suspend deadlines. If you already have a paid subscription, cancel it through Manage subscription to stop renewals.

Paid and waiver accounts have the same tool availability and fair-use safeguards. Connected AI currently allows 20 requests per day. Rate limits protect availability; free access does not mean unlimited processing, attorney representation, or guaranteed court outcomes.

Document formatting and third-party editors

Milieu retains original uploaded PDF and DOCX bytes and saves originals only when you request it. An extracted text draft is separate and does not preserve the original layout. Browser Word previews may differ from Microsoft Word. Exported draft files use the selected typography within supported fonts; inspect the final file against court requirements. Downloading for Word or Acrobat and uploading a revision does not provide embedded native editing. Microsoft embedded editing requires separate authorization. Adobe’s optional embedded tools require activation and support compatible form fields and annotations, not every Acrobat editing feature.

Third-party services

Tyler Technologies, CLEAR, Microsoft, Adobe, Stripe, Zoom, Dropbox, OpenAI, and Indiana court services are independent services with their own terms. Naming a service does not imply endorsement or affiliation. Official court data may be incomplete, delayed, or subject to access restrictions. The site does not scrape MyCase or the Roll of Attorneys.

Disclaimers and limitations

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or a particular legal result. To that same extent, HOME MILIEU LLC, doing business as Milieunomics Institute, and Milieu Legal disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use. Nothing here excludes liability or waives rights that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable nonwaivable consumer protections. These terms do not excuse fraud or intentional misconduct.
